The All Whites played in the 1982 and 2010 football FIFA world cup. The 2010 New Zealand team is one of only eight in the history of the World Cup to have remained unbeaten through a World Cup Finals competition. New Zealand drew its first group match against Slovakia 1-1 with Winston Reid heading the ball into the back of the net. This result represented the first ever point for New Zealand in a World Cup finals tournament! The team also tied with Italy and Paraguay. The Football Ferns are the New Zealand woman's football team. They qualified for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 where they tied with Japan. They have had four OFC wins and have qualified for the 2011 FIFA world cup in Germany.
